Security

We are having problems with the security set up in
Access. I set it up. It was working and now it still
looks like each user is set up but it no longer requests
they login. In addition, it is defaulting to the Admin
login.

Is there a way to remove all security rights and starting
over? (It won't allow me to remove users or change rights
in Access anymore. The buttons are not grayed out)

Users are getting in using their default system.mdw file that ships with
Access.

Since they are successful, you missed a step in securing it.

You'll need to locate the workgroup file (something.mdw) you used to secure
it with. Join that workgroup and log in as a user that is a member of the
Admins group. Then you'll be able to unsecure it and start over. There are
details in the FAQ on how to unsecure completely.

If you don't wish to start over, you can just clean up what you have. Once
you are logging in using the correct mdw file, check that the 'Admin' user
and the 'Users' group have *no* permissions on any object (including the
database object). Also check the ownership tab, and ensure that Admin does
not own anything.

If you secure it correctly, users won't even be able to open the mdb without
using the correct mdw file.

Be sure you follow the steps in the FAQ to the letter, if you do decide to
start over.
