Is it possible to add/modify permissions to specific tables in an Access
database using W2K Active Directory users/security, or are you required to
use the built-in security users/groups in Access?

Yes.

You should be aware that Access security is not exactly industrial strength.
Lots of people know how to get around it, and there are readily-available
tools which can read all of the user names and passwords from an Access
Workgroup Information File.
