I created a test database to become familiar with the
security setup. I used the wizard. I didn't get the
results I was expecting so I deleted the db to start
over. Now, every db I open ask for username and
password. How do I stop this?

If you didn't create a new system.mdw file, you'll need to get one from
another (unsecured) machine. The file is typically located in the
Windows\System32 folder. Look in the help files under "workgroup" for
information on creating and joining workgroup information files.

Are you clicking on the database to open it, or are you opening Access
and then selecting the database to open. It sounds like you are opening
Access using a shortcut and that short cut is trying to open the mdw
(workgroup) file. You can edit the properties to eliminate that.

Access user level security is a challenge to get to know, but it is a
very powerful tool once you master it, or even just tame it.
