"Security" warning

As of the last couple of days, whenever I open IE6/SP2, I get a "Security
Warning" box in the middle of the screen that says:

The current Web page is trying to open a site in your Trusted sites list. Do
you want to allow this?

Current site: www.microsoft.com
Trusted site: windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Yes or No

Even though my home page is different than Windows update, when I click on 'Yes'
then it goes to update and scans to see if my computer is up to date. Every
time, there are NO current updates to be had.

This annoying problem is driving me crazy. Can anyone offer a suggestion as to
how to stop this from happening?

I don't know if this will do it since I haven't tried it but try unchecking
'Automatically check for Internet Explorer updates' under Tools > Options >
Advanced tab > Browsing (2nd one down)

Well, I looked at the list and microsoft.com was on it, along with a couple of
other variations. So, I deleted them. NOW, the security warning doesn't pop up
any more, but IE always opens at
http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us

I can click on the homepage icon after IE is open and it will go to my page, and
everything functions 'normally' as long as I don't close IE. It's just when I
start that it automatically opens to the site above. Any other ideas?

Yup, that did the trick. Why on earth would something like that start happening
all of a sudden? That's never been changed. Thanks very much for helping.
