Security Updates

Looking through my 'Remove Programs@ section i noticed about 30 Security
updates and Windows updates. Can these be removed without affecting the
performance of my pc

Not a good idea. Leave them alone.

Look for a checked box, I think in the upper right of Add/Remove screen,
that says something like "Show Updates". Uncheck that and you won't have
to look at them anymore.

It has nothing to do with performance. These are the fixes that solved
Windows problems, fixed bugs, and closed security loopholes. Remove them at
your peril--if you do so, you will put back all the problems they were
designed to correct.
