I am having a problem with new XP desktop computers failing the MS05-039
Zotob check. When we go out to Windows update it doesn't detect it, but it
isn't listed in the Hotfixes. Do you know if this has been included in a
security update or superceded by another security patch?

What is "the MS05-039 Zotob check", please? Are you referring to #1 here:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/zotob.mspx ??

When were these computers manufactured?

Is Automatic Updates enabled? Are you otherwise fully up-to-date at Windows
Update?

Generally speaking:

If Windows or Automatic Update doesn't offer you an update, you don't need
it.

If you manually download an update and the installation fails, you don't
need it (e.g., another, more recent update either includes the update or
supersedes it).
