Security Update KB824146

[Ruth]

For those of you having problems downloading or installing
this update I would stop trying until Microsoft issues
another patch. I WAS successful and lost my ability to
connect to the Internet as a result. It was only after
contacting my ISP and verifying there wasn't a problem
with them that I realized the problem was with this new
update. I deleted it and now everything is working fine
again.

I've had similar problems as well. I didn't lose
internet connection, but my mouse would freeze upon
loading Windows XP. After I uninstalled, it worked fine.

Hey Jupiter,
By manually loading it, does that fix the idiosynchosies,
such as loss of internet access?

I have heard there is some success this way.
We rarely hear back making it difficult to find a solution.

However doing it manually gives you the opportunity to reboot and
disable all unnecessary applications including AV before installing.
