Security Update for Outlook 2002 (KB892841) problem

MS have issued 3 new updates recently, 2 of which install with no problem
but the above causes problems with Outlook Express. When the update is
installed, OE is no longer available and the default OE links and shortcuts
are replaced with Outlook 2002. I then have to restore my system to an
earlier date and then go to Custom Install and deselect the above update.
This lasts for a day or two and then it is installed automatically again and
I have to restore my system to an earlier date.

Is there a work around/or fix I can carry out? Your advice is greatly
appreciated.

Do you mean the shortcuts change from outlook express to outlook? If so make
new shortcuts for outlook express. What happens if you open outlook express
either from the run box or directly program files/outlook express/msimn.exe.
Does it run. If it does all you have to do is make new shortcuts. Repost if
it doesn't.
