Security Tab is missing in Regedit

Alex M.

WXP Pro reinstalled on new hard drive - after updates are installed (that
don't appear in add/remove programs) I loose the security tab in regedt32.
Some applications we run require me to change permissions to "everyone" and
I can not change the permission on my administrator pc until I get the
security tab back in regedit.
Thanks!

There is no separation of regedit.exe and regedt32.exe. You ONLY use
regedit.exe on Windows XP. The regedt32.exe is just a stub of code
that starts regedit.exe. So just run regedit.exe. regedt32.exe was
provided for those that didn't realize that regedit.exe and
regedt32.exe functions have been combined into just the one
regedit.exe program.

In regedit, use the Edit -> Permissions menu or right-click on an item
and select Permissions from the context menu.
