Security / SPAM

Recently the SPAM I've been getting has taken a new
twist. The SPAM messages are attempting to access email
addresses... fortunately Outlook is asking for permission
to allow this and of course I say no.

I don't open the messages and I don't use the preview
pane. This occurs when I select the message to be
processed and forwarded to Spam source for spam reporting.

Has anyone else seen this?
What addtional security measures can be taken to protect
against this latest SPAM attack.

Norton Antivirus 2004

This isn't the fault of the SPAM message, but rather a result of a security
update in Outlook 2003 SP1 and your SPAM blocker. Contact the company
responsible for the SPAM source software and see if they have an update for
you.

I don't use a SPAM blocker, just a reporting service
(http://www.spamcop.net/) and the attempt to scan my
address book happens when the message is highlighted (no
preview pane used, SPAMCOP not selected to process &
report the SPAM).

I'm concerned there is a virus code buried in the message
that is attempting to harvest my address book.
