security settings

Im not sure how I did it but I am administrator on my computer
and I have password set to my screen saver
but when I boot up it goes right to the desk top
without requiring a password
some directions would help

It doesn't matter if you have a password on your screen saver. Do you
have a password on your account? If not, and it is the only account on
the computer, it will go directly to the desktop.

; start>control panel (classic view)>user accounts> your account name>
change the way users log on and off> untick show welcome screen and follow
password instructions.
