security question

I am new to Access security and have the following
question:

Our office has a db using user level security, a
secure .mdw file and a shortcut to open the db. This all
seems to be working well until someone pointed out a way
to 'get at' the data in the db. They would check the
location of the .mdw file (from the shortcut's target),
create a blank db and then create a shortcut of their
own. This shortcut would open their new db but using my
secure .mdw file. They could then "Get External Data" and
import anything they wanted from my secure db.

Does anybody understand the problem, and if so is there a
solution?

Thanks in advance.

Using Read With Owners Permission (RWOP ) queries, you can deny the
users all permissions to the raw tables. Instead they have permissions
only to the queries that you define. With all permissions denied on
the tables, the users are prevented from importing the tables or
linking to them from another database.
