We're trying to access a local security database on a
client workstation through gpedit. However, when we try
to access the security settings we get an error about it
being an 'unknown database'. If we try to import a
template we get an extended error message about being
unable to open c:\winnt\security\templates\*.inf. Any
suggestions?

Howdy!

What is it that you are trying to do? Generally, security databases can be
inspected and compared using the SEcurity Configuration and Analysis tool
that ships with the OS. If you open up an MMC, you can add this snap-in to
look at sdb files.
