Security Log is full, or so it says at login - HELP

When I try to login to my WindowsXP Professional system
at the login window it displays "The security log for
this system is full. Only administrators can login and
fix this problem." I know the administrator login and
password but have no idea how to fix problem. Any help?

for sure you have enabled system auditing, this is the way
windows monitors and audit successful and failed access to
your systems resources like shared folders and many more.

log on as administrator or any user with the same rights
then Run--> eventvwr.msc

now you will see event viewer, expand event viewer(local)
or double click it to see the 3 event logs.

focus your attention to security logs.

right click security logs to clear them or you better save
those logs before you clear them, after clearing this you
will not ecounter that log on message again.
