security configuration and analysis

when i try to open the database thru mmc security
configuration and analysis i get "access to database has
been denied" It is pointing to the correct DB. any ideas?

You need to be and administrator to use that utility. Also, you can't open
%windir%\security\database\secedit.sdb.
