Security Center

When I open my Vista box's Security Center, it complains that there is no
antivirus software installed even though there is (AVG 7.5, which is
definitely up and running), and that Windows Defender is turned off (which I
certainly never did) even though the tray icon is visible.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

All,

Have a brand new Dell with Vista Home loaded on it from the factory and have
the same issues. Have Avast antivirus and Bitdefender coming up as not being
recognized by Vista Security Center - folks in other forums
(http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsOneCare/showpost.aspx?postid=1316604&siteid=2)
are having the same problems and the Microsoft guy there pointed me here.
Wish Microsoft would actually look at there forums and find a resolution and
have it posted - unless they really like wasting their customers time trying
to figure out their bugs.

There should be some manual solution to this (Registry fix or going through
an app) to manually point the program at the executable or file path to
correct these issues.

Can someone page Bill Gates and ask him how to do this?
