Hello everyone and a good day to you.

Last night (May 12, 2007), somehow this spyware got onto my computer. I am
not sure if it is in fact Spyware but it shows characteristics which make it
uncanny. This program comes up as a website called www.secure-to-update (or
date).com. It also comes on the help and support icon on my menu bar as this
big red sign (kind of like those on the no-smoking signs). It frequently
acts as a pop-up telling me to download these programs that can "fight"
virus'.

PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN! My computer is going to go bad, and I do not
want that because after I go to college, my parents will need my computer and
I want it clean and safe for them to use.

PLEASE, AGAIN, HELP ME!

Thank you for the time and convenience.

Sincerely,
Heeren Gordhan

Hello,

First, clear your temp files
Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup

Next, try downloading and running SuperAntispyware from here
http://www.superantispyware.com
(the free HOME edition is sufficient for your needs)

After running the scan, removing, rebooting, install and run AVG Free unless
you already have another virus solution (if so, update it and run it)

Download the Hijackthis and send the report to one of
many
forums for analysis and troubleshooting:
When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. Post
your log to http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30,
http://castlecops.com/forum67.html,
http://forums.subratam.org/index.php?showforum=7, or other appropriate
forums for expert analysis, not here.
HTH.
Let us know.
