I got a mail from Bink.nu advising to get the Microsoft Security Bulletin
MS04-011 ( 835732 ).
When I checked the Critical Updates from the Microsoft site this was not
available there. Its said to be released on 13th April 2004.
Please someone advise if this should be downloaded and installed.

Isn't this that update that was causing a lot of people problems with their
computers? Has this update been modified by Microsoft to address these
problems so that it is safe to download?

If you go to

you will see that the bulletin was updated on April 28
In "Affected software", the fifth line relates to Windows XP - click the
'Download the update' in that (if you did not do it back at 13 April
when it first came out). It has just become urgent, because a virus
exploiting the hole has come out in the wild

Check in "add & remove programs" and see if its listed there (Hotfix
835732). You may already have this if you run Win Update regularly.

I have dinstalled the patch 4 times.Manual and through windows updare.
It is shoving in add remove programs.BUT everytime windows update
prompts to install it.
ıt is definitely a bug
