Securing C: drive between different level of users

hi, Im running Windows XP on my laptop and at the moment I have 3 users set
up: user 1 (administrator account), user 2 (limited account), guest (very
limited account). I'm trying to configure my machine so that only the
administrator can have access to the C: drive and the other 2 users' files.
As it is at the moment even though the other 2 users have limited accounts,
they can still access the C: drive and the administrator files (thier
accounts being limited only in terms on installing/uninstalling
software/hardware). I know one way of resolving the issue of gaining access
to files would be to password-protect them but what I am really trying to
achieve is at least to level of users, one with full control of the machine
and the other 2 with no access whatsoever to the C: drive and the other
users's files...
Many thanks

Hi Louis,

This particular newsgroup is devoted to security questions concerning
the database program called "Access" which is part of the Office family of
products. The forum name can be a little misleading.

I would suggest you re-post your question in an XP newsgroup so you
may receive the best help possible. There are 27 XP newsgroups and they
all start like this:

microsoft.public.windowsxp

Specifically you might try

microsoft.public.windowsxp.security_admin

If you have trouble finding the XP groups, post back and I'll walk you through getting there.

Hi Jeff,

many thanks for your reply. I did actually try in
public.windowsxp.security_admin too only after I realised the access name of
the first newsgroup referred to the softwate and not a physical access (very
misleading as you noted..) lol

I'm pleased to see that these newsgroups cover the US as well, as I thought
they were limited to the UK only since the website asked me in which
country's newsgroup I was mainly interested...this can only increase my
chances of finding someone who knows the answer to my problem.

Once again, thanks a lot for your reply...
Louis

An often seen problem in this newsgroup; no harm done.

These newsgroups are seen all over the world so I have no doubt
you will find many knowledgeable people to assist you in the other
newsgroup.

You're welcome and good luck,
