Hi all

A friend of mine cannot connect to any secure web pages.. getting the page
not found screen.. I have followed the microsoft knowledge base article at

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=813444

And all still fails. I even created a new user and still the same thing
happens.

He does get an error with Norton AV, so my next step is to reinstall that.
Does anyone have any other ideas? He uses XP Pro, with the sp1 and feb 2004
security cd installed. he is fully up to date with window update.

Cheers

Matt

Hi Matt,

I had similar problem with Norton AV. If you want to make that Norton is not
the problem you can disable all Symantec (Norton) services and reboot the PC
and then try browsing to secure site.

After you disable and reboot Norton AV be very careful what you open and
access. Also turn on Windows XP firewall (ICF) since Norton won't start...

Maybe SSL (Secure Socket Layer) has been disabled on your web browser
(Internet Options, Advanced tab -- you can "Restore Defaults" to set it back
active).
