Section Breaks - fill preceding page with text

Is there a way to automatically make text fill a page before a page break.
As an example, I want to insert a landscape page with a figure on it after
its reference, but I don't want a half a blank page before it. Is there a
way to make that page get text from the next section with text to fill its
page?

No, there isn't. Word cannot flow text around sections. You'll have to use
cut/paste to move text from the section after the landscape page. Wait until
the document text is completely edited and all graphics have been placed in
the part of the document before the landscape page, to avoid having to redo
this job.
