This new problem occurs when I click a link that opens a
secondary window :
+ the window opens blank (hourglass icon)
+ I press Escape and the "Action cancelled" window is
displayed
+ I "refresh" and the desired secondary window displays
normally
This happens all the time with some links (e.g. the "Post"
button on this forum), never on others (e.g. CNN)
I cannot think of any recent configuration change that
could have caused this. This is what I have tried, with
no result:
+ temporarily set Internet Security level to LOW
+ reinstalled Internet Explorer 6
+ disabled all Firewalls, popup stoppers, virus checkers,
etc.
+ killed spyware using SpyBot S&D
+ followed instruction in MS article #281679
If someone can point me in the right direction, I'll be
most grateful.
