second sound card unrecognized in windows xp

i installed a second sound card on my computer running windows xp. i want to use them both simultaneously, but one of them is unrecognized in windows xp. please help

Now why would you want that? I have been into computers since before they
had sound. I have never, even once, thought that I would need 2 sound cards.

I'm just curious, is all!
