Where can I see the list of video cards supporting the second monitor?
Jack

There are so many, and the list would change daily.

You need to narrow down your criteria (connection types(s) (VGA, DVI-I,
DVI-D ) interface type (AGP, PCI-Express), what you want to do with it
(general purpose, gaming, video editing).

Then you can go shopping.

Check card manufacturer websites for cards that support dual monitors. Or,
you could go to Google or any other search engine, type in ATI Dual Monitor
Graphics Card, check the list, then type in nVidia Dual Monitor Graphics
card and check the list.

The above will give you various models, check the card manufacturer websites
for Vista compatibility and make sure they are providing fully functional
drivers for Vista as some cards you find in your search may be older and
manufacturer's may only be providing basic drivers as a result.

I use a 3 monitor setup. Each flat screen has a DVI and a VGA connection (as
well as others, but that's enough!!)

I use 2 dual head video cards:
primary: NVIDIA Quadro FX3450/4000 (2 dvi)
secondary: NVIDIA GeForce FX5200 (1 dvi + 1 vga)

I will tell you that i had to get both to have the same chipset (tried ati
ones for my secondary and they just wouldnt work -- even tho they said
"Vista Capable")

I use DVI for my Vista box inputs
using the VGA for my XP box inputs.

WORKS!

Maybe if your primary card had been ATI, the second ATI would have
worked!:-)
I'm just saying the problem might happen either way depending on
manufacturer of your primary card.

I think I've seen mention before of people needing to use cards of the same
chipset in such a configuration though I have no idea if that is always the
case.

agree!!
