Second computer cannot connect to Internet through first one

I have 2 computers under WinXP with a network. The computers and the network
worked properly about tree monthes. But now my second computer can see only
hard drives of first computer and cannot see Internet through my first one.
When I click Repair, I receive message
The following steps of the repair operation failed: Renewing the IP address.
I have marked Obtain an IP address and DNS server automatically.
Where should I look up a mistake?
Thanks in advance

Lev,

Do you have a DHCP server? If so, you need to check its logs and see
why it isn't renewing the ip address.

If you don't have a DHCP server, then you need to assign dns and ip
settings manually.

Please describe your network in more detail if this doesn't help.

Cheers,

Chuck
