Second analog amplifier on same line from my sound card?

I'm now using a set of Dell analog speakers with a subwoofer connected to the
Line 1 output on my (Sound Blaster Live 24) sound card. I'd like to connect
to a second analog amplifier (a Yamaha home stereo receiver) so I can have
audio from the computer in other rooms of my house.

Can I split the line signal with a Y-connector and run both the Dell
speakers and the second amplifier at the same time? The connections are easy
enough, but I'm concerned about degrading the signal or overloading the sound
card output.

Anybody have any experience with this?

The output impedence from the sound card is quite low, and therefore can
drive a number of high impedance audio inputs, such as on home entertainment
gear, with no problem. Just hook it up as you plan and it should sound
great.
