seating assignment cards at a banquet

Guest

I am looking for a template to be used for assigning seats to guests at a
banquet.
A table will be set up outside the hall entrance. The table will hold the
seating assignment cards. Guests will find their name and table assignment on
the card.

Use some sort of a drawing program with numbers for the places. Use Word for
the legend. Going to be easier on you.

The hard part is getting your printer to print name cards that small. But
Avery or someone probably sells perforated placecards with the fold, you set
them up as labels. Buy the cards first, then look for the template.

Does the OP want a seating chart or place cards?

I thought place cards. Weddings I've gone to often have all the cards with
a number on them, and the guest picks up the card, goes to that number
table, and sets it down by their place. Except in that case, the cards a)
don't really need to fold in half, b) don't exactly need to be double sided.

I might be wrong, though. Could be a seating chart on a great big piece of
cardboard, in which case, yes, drawing program.

Hope the OP is not looking for a template that will put family members
together and separate the feuding folk....cause Word's not gonna provide
that.

You now understand why we had an out-of-state, civil ceremony last year. No
family feuds. :)

Thank you all for your advice. I have decided to use a clip art picture with
a border which contains space in the center for the guests' names and table
assignments. Fortunately, we don't have the feuding family problems, but we
will have fun assigning people to the tables. I'm thinking of going
low-tech, putting each guest's name on a sticky note and moving the names
around on a mock-up of the 15 tables, until we have everyone assigned. The
advice (and comments) were great. Thanks again.

Better idea - Elope.

Pros: No hassle about who sits where. Less expensive.
Cons: Fewer gifts. Can result in some seriously P'd off kinfolk. :)
