searchurl not functioning

S

siik

hey all.

i ran into a spyware that started changing my error
message urls, eg http://blah-blah-internet.com/error?%s, %
s being the url that isn't dnsing or whatnot. lavasoft ad-
aware took care of it quickly and deleted the registry
keys. however, now i can't search anything from address
bar. i created my own shortcuts using tweakui and they
don't work, as well as the "Search for" prefixes.

my best guess is to rebuild the ie registry, but i don't
know how to do that.

any help is appreciated. tia

i have 'explained my difficulties'.

again, as i stated earlier, i've found through some google
help that these prefixes/keywords are stored in (somewhere
in)current_user/software/ie/searchurl. i have that branch
still, but searching still doesn't work. if someone knows
how to get the prefixes working again, it would be helpful.
