Searching within the main body of a Journal entry.

I have Office 2007 and I was wondering if there was any way of searching
within the main body of a journal entry in outlook? It seems the search only
brings up results from the "Subject" field. This renders the search
practically useless.

I am currently looking to migrate to a fully integrated PIM with calendar,
tasks and journal with the ability to sync with my Pocket PC. Outlook seems
like the logical first choice.

At the moment I use another program called advanced diary for making daily
logs and journals of all my thoughts etc and use outlook for tasks and
appointments as it syncs with my mobile device.

BTW I run XP Can people search their outlook journals under vista?

I am using Office 2007 on 2 computers, one XP and one Vista. I also have
OneNote 2007, which installed MS Desktop Search. I believe in Outlook you
could do an advanced search and have it find your search term within the
notes field. This is no longer necessary with Desktop Search, as it finds
everything without any additional options. I believe you can install Desktop
Search without OneNote, and that it is free.
For Journal on a Pocket PC, I am new to that format. I have, for years, used
a Palm unit and Chapura Pocket Journal, which they discontinued but still
works. I am now trying a program called "RetroActive" from Acquasys.com . You
can try it free for 30 days. It is much slower than the old Palm
PocketJournal, and still has some bugs. For some reason I can't figure out,
this feature is quite rare with Outlook Journal. You would think MS would
write something of a Pocket version for making and synchronizing Journal
entries. It is a huge feature of Outlook for me. At least RetroActive is
something to try. I have also heard of CLC Journal, but I emaild Crown Logic
(they write that) and never got a response. There was supposed to be a new
version coming out in 2006, but nothing so far. Sounds like a small company
and they might be working on something else. Anyhow, I hope Microsoft wakes
up and realizes the potential of Pocket PC with Journal. Strangely neglected
since OL 97!
