Searching PST files on a CDRW

I have a user who wants to copy pst files to a CD (for archiving) and then be
able to search the files using Outlook without first copying them back to the
hard drive. I realize files copied to a CD are read only, however, I thought
I read somewhere that if CDRW media was used this might be possible. I
experimented by copying the file to a CDRW, then tried adding the file to
Outlook's data files. I received an error message that seemed to indicated I
was hitting the read only issue. Does anyone know if it is possible to
accomplish what the user wants to do using CDRW? If not, any other
suggestions for addressing the problem?

You cannot access pst-files on a CD.

You might want to consider using this add-in;
