Searching in a file does not work?

Eric

Hi,

When I select Start -> Search -> For Files or Folders->All files or
folders.. a dialog box appears allowing me to enter search criteria.
I want to select all the .pas-files containing the word "TMyNNTPThread". So
I entered the following information in the edit boxes of the dialog box:

- All or part of the file name: *.pas
- A word or phrase in the file: TMyNNTPThread
- Look in: Projects

I know there is a file Unit1.pas containing the word "TMyNNTPThread". Yet it
wasn't found after starting the search. I checked the other selection
criteria (modification, size, advanced options), but I couldn't find a
setting that led to the exclusion van Unit1.pas.

I'm using windows xp sp2.

Any idea's?

Thanks in advance!

Basically XP doesn't search what it considers non-text files. Use Agent
Ransack instead.

..pas file are text files containing Delphi code. But somehow these are not
recognized as text files? Is there any way to let XP regard it as a text
file?
Ransack instead.
I'll have a look at Agent Ransack.
