Searching for 'lost' or deleted files

S

SS

I recently seem to have lost some jpeg files on my XP Home machine. I know
they were there recently as I was looking at my pictures. I don't think I
accidentally deleted them and they aren't in the recycle bin. presumably as
I have not reformatted my HDD recently if they are deleted or otherwise lost
I could revive them, but is there any freeware I can use to search for my
files and restore them?

Thanks

* undelete multiple files by selecting them with Shift/Ctrl key
* sort items displayed by clicking column headers

If you've rebooted and written to disk since you lost them, they may
be overwritten, and that would make them unrecoverable.

Hi,

While there is still a chance to restore I suppose trying data recovery
tools. When I was in a simmilar situation the tool I've used was
perfectly able to bring back erased files. That one was Undelete, it is
really powerful and reliable, you can try it out.

I don't know what's more pathetic, Jack Abramoff's sleaze or Republican
paralysis in the face of it. Abramoff walks out of a D.C. courthouse in
his pseudo-Hasidic homburg, and all that leading Republicans can do is
promise to return his money and remind everyone that some Democrats are
involved in the scandal, too.

That's a great G.O.P. talking point: some Democrats are so sleazy, they
get involved with the likes of us.

Works pretty good-over 9000 things found. Some as far back as 2003.
Surprised me as I have defragged a time or three-or should I have not been
surprised? Am I missing something here about the defrag process? (Winxp
