searching for boot record

when i start my computer, it doesn't even allow me the
chance to get to the BIOS. it goes straight to an error
message that says "searching for boot record." it
proceeds to search the CD ROM and the A:\ drive. don't
know what to do.

This is not a Windows issue.
Consult the paper or online documentation for your system to determine
the correct key and timing to enter the Setup screens for your system.
