SearchFilterHost Killing my CPU

Hello I'm running Vista Business. The following 3 processes are running my
CPU to 100% use. It's laptop P-M 1.7Ghz.
SearchFilterHost.exe
SearchProtocolHost.exe
SearchIndexer.exe

I realise this is got to do with indexing searches, but how do i turn that
off (surely MS let you turn it off)... Annoying the hell outta me having fans
run fulltime and surely cannot be good for the CPU.

Btw I have Office 2007 installed also

It will stop on its own when the index have been built.

IMHO, you are better off letting it run.
When its done, you won't notice it.

However, to disable it:
