I have IE6 and now the search window has changed, I've
used Aluria to find spyware and Deleted that, I've gone
into the registry and deleted the entries that I can find
for IE6 Search. But I am still not able to change the
search window through the Customize button, (it seems
inactive) Any ideas?? Jeff

Hi Jeff - SpyBot S&D will remove this, as will AdAware, or you can get
manual instructions here: http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/ShopNav.html

You can get Ad-Aware 6.0, Build 181 or later, here:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/. UPDATE and run this regularly
to get rid of most "spyware/hijackware" on your machine. If it has to fix
things, be sure to re-boot and rerun AdAware again and repeat this cycle
until you get a clean scan. The reason is that it may have to remove
things which are currently "in use" before it can then clean up others.

SpyBot Search and Destroy is available here: http://security.kolla.de/
SpyBot Support Forum here:
http://www.net-integration.net/cgi-bin/forums/ikonboard.cgi. I recommend
using both normally. After UPDATING and fixing things with SpyBot S&D, be
sure to re-boot and rerun SpyBot again and repeat this cycle until you get a
clean "no red" scan. The reason is that SpyBot sometimes has to remove
things which are currently "in use" before it can then clean up others.

Note that sometimes you need to make a judgement call about what these
programs report as spyware. See here, for example:

I'll try that, I thought that this Aluria was supposed to do that but I
guess it's not as good as they said it was......

Jim, Thanks for the help, that did the trick! I'm gonna give the people
at Aluria a thing to think about, that program is crap. It finds some
cookies but that's about it. Using the AdAware it found over 170 items
that were on my machine after the Aluria had been run! Again thanks, good
advice is REALLY APPRECIATED! Jeff

YW, Jeff - Glad it helped.
