Edit the Registry,

For the Run command on the Start Menu,

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
or
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Delete "NoRun" in the right-hand pane or change the value to 0.

For the Search menu on the Start Menu

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
or
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Delete "NoFind" in the right-hand pane or change the value to 0.

You're welcome Sue.

There could be numerous ways in which those value were change/added. But I
would suspect you may have some malware and/or spyware on your system. I
would recommend you perform full system scans with the following
applications.

Adaware SE (free)
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download

Spybot - search and destroy (free)
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

Trend Micro - Housecall (free)
http://housecall.trendmicro.com

Are you using a Anti-virus program?

Yes I am using AVG and have done for years. But I might run one of the others
to see if they pick up anything Thanks
Sue
