Search&Replace Fields, with Macro?

B

Bill JITC

Can someone help me with a macro to do this search and
replace?
I posted a request for help on 18 Aug to display a TAble
of Figures entry only without the word 'Figure' but
keeping the Chapter and sequence number. The response
lead me to experiment with inserting my own {TC} code
after Word's auto-insert of the Chapter and Seq number.
The format that works is:
Figure {TC}{STYLEREF 9 \s }-{SEQ Figure \* ARABIC \s 9 }.
[figure title]
If this is displayed in a Table of Figures, with
the "Include Label and Number" un-checked it displays the
Chapter number - Sequence # and Title text just fine!
My question here is how can I search for all "Figure
{STYLEREF..." and change to "Figure {TC}{STYLEREF..."?
Thank you for your help.
- One more item... MVP's,could this information be useful
for your FAQ site? Thanks Bill - ([email protected])

Hi Bill,
My question here is how can I search for all "Figure
{STYLEREF..." and change to "Figure {TC}{STYLEREF..."?
Experiment with something like this
- Make sure field codes are displayed
- COPY what you want to use as the replacement text to
the Clipboard (select, then Edit/Copy)
- Find: Figure ^d STYLEREF
- Replace with the contents of the clipboard: \c
