Search .pst file

Hi there,
I'm running Outlook 2007. I can use the search function just fine when
searching in my inbox, sent items, etc that are still on the Exchange server.
The problem is when I try to search anything in my .pst file stored on my
local machine. The pst files are included in the indexing options. I get a
message stating that Search results may be incomplete becuase items are still
being indexed. But the number of remaining items never decreases
Thanks for your help.

I used pstscan.exe and there were errors in the pst file. The utility
repaired the errors though. I then rebuilt the index. No luck yet. Any
ideas?
Thanks

Run scanpst.exe again and again until it doesn't find any errors anymore.
Instead of doing a Rebuild do a Restore Defaults instead.

I ran the pstscan.exe utility until no errors were found then restored the
index to default (twice). I'm still having problems with this.......thx for
your help

Did you upgrade to Windows Desktop Search version 4 already or are you still
using version 3?

4 I believe. Running Vista SP1 and Outlook 2007 - all updates installed. I
went to microsoft to dowload version 4 and it said it doesn't apply to my
system. I'm not sure where to find version number. The index status in
Outlook says still indexing items - 113 items remaining across all open
mailboxes. This number has actually increased the last few days. It was at
46. Either way no search results return when searching the .pst file.
Search works fine in Exchange mailbox.
Thanks
