search problem

when i search files/folders including sub folders the result shows folders
and then files within that folder seperatly.
Is there any way to find files/folders so that if folder is find matching
the criteria than only folders are shown not files in it?

In the left pane of the search window, you click 'All files and folders';
that pane then changes to 'Search by any or all of the criteria below.'
Now click the 'More advanced options' item, which expands to include a 'Type
of file:' dropdown. About one third of the way down in that dropdown list
is an item with just the word 'Folder'.

This allows you to search only for folders. I don't know how to search for
files and folders with an option to change to only folders if a folder is
found.
