Search Page within IE

Hi,

I'm using IE6 SP1. When I click on the Search button on the toolbar, nothing
at all comes up. I've wanted to set my search bar and search page to google.
I attempted to do this by changing the registry hey
HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/Main/Search Bar and .../Search
Page. They had been set to
http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd=ie&ar=iesearch, but no luck. If
I type a search term in the address bar, I still get MSN search. If I clich
"Search" on the toolbar, nothing. I don't think it's spyware-related, but
one can never be absolutely certain. Any ideas? TIA.

Ramesh,

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, they seem to be having server
problems at the moment. The weird part is that I checked the reg settings on
my wife's computer, and they're the same. However, her search does work.
Strange.

I'll be formatting/reinstalling next week anyway (I do it every year or so
to clean things up), so we can see then. Besides, after it's set up, I can
make an image of everything before I even consider playing with SP2.

Mike

Thanks Robert. Apart from the cached copy, here is another alternate:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/RestoreSearch2.REG

I preferred IEFix.reg coz it removes the existing urlsearchhooks key and rebuilds it, thereby eliminating unwanted hooks (additional REG_SZ values).

Ramesh,

He's right. www.spywareinfo.com seems to be continually unavailable.
Google has a cached version of that reg file saved on Jul 12.

Thanks. From what I've been hearing, spywareinfo has been under a nonstop
DOS attack (gee, I wonder why?)
