search page problems

<form action="_derived/nortbots.htm" method="POST"
onsubmit="location.href='_derived/nortbots.htm';return false;">
This indicates the form was FTPed to the server. FrontPage forms
(including the search) must be published to the server using HTTP. This
error may also occur if the Search webbot is not supported by the
server.

nortbots.htm only appears in five cases:

1) You are testing on a disc-based website, including a FrontPage or
Expression Web disc-based web that is being browsed through a
web-server.

2) You are testing on a website that does not have server extensions
installed or running.

3) The site (or form page) was FTPed from a disc-based web, or
published using a FTP address for the destination, or published to a
file system destination including a network share or UNC address (like
\\machinename\path\webname), or to an address like C:\sitename .
Publish must be to a URL of the form http://example.com

4) The site was correctly published, but the extensions were not
installed correctly or were mis-configured. Re-installing the
extensions may correct the problem. Some forms (example Search) are not
supported by the server and may also show the error.

5) There is a bug associated with FrontPage98 which causes this
problem.

Thanks for the suggestions

We are using Concentric (formally bcentral) and all forms are working great
except our search page.

We publish using FP 2003 and have the selection says “Remote web server
type†we have checked “FP or SharePoint Servicesâ€

We have turned off the FP extensions on the server and reinstalled them but
no luck.

Check that Concentric actually supports the search webbot. If you are
hosted on a Windows 2003 server (you are on a Windows server with an
early version of FP 2002 extensions, so it may be Windows 2000) then
search requires the Index Server (IS) to be running. Since IS requires
a lot of resources some hosts do not allow it to run, and therefore do
not support the search component.

Opening the website (on Concentric) and running Tools->Recalculate
Hyperlinks may reset the form correctly.

Thanks for the help. I will contact Concentric and see if they are running (IS)

Thanks again.
