search page coming up

when I type a url address in under the address bar, my machine automatically
brings up a search page. The 1st entry on the search results is the page I
just typed in and so I click on t and it brings up another search page. It
doesnt matter if I use IE or Netscape, IE will bring up yahoo search engine
and netscape brings up netscapes search engine..
