Search not working on imported PST file

I recently had to do a full recovery on my machine (OS Vista and Outlook2007)
and restored my back up PST file. When I try to searching, Outlook only
seems to search on emails I've received since my restore even though they're
all in the same file and in box.

Any ideas how I can force it to search correctly?

You mention "imported" in the subject line, but "restored" in the
message body. Import and restore are two very different things, and I
wouldn't count on 100% correct data if you did an import.
 
It was a restore from my back up disc.

I have about 300 mails in my inbox from my business partner 'Brian'. When I
search on his name, it only finds the one he sent me today. Any ideas anyone?
