Anyone ever experienced the search button launching the windows installer?

In my case, the user is getting a windows installer for Visio - when she
clicks on search either through Explorer or from the Start menu - while
using Windows 2000 Pro.

Strange one..

thanks!

Reinstall Visio make sure it is done under her profile or done with enhanced security (part of the Group Policy) and make sure you do custom install everything local, nothing using "the network." That should fix it. You are missing something in the system that the Windows Installer Technology for Visio requires.

It looks like a self-heal component is being activated. I would run through
the Visio install, there could be some corruption or missing files
