"Search" in Outlook 2007

The search function in my Outlook 2007 has stopped working. I use it
frequently to find calendar entries and various emails. I don't know what
happened to make it stop working. How can I restore the function?

I tried doing a re-Index (as suggested by the help file) but it still isn't
working. If anyone has a suggestion I sure would appreciate hearing from
you.
