search for another record

I have a form that before it opens asks you for the lot number and the group
number for the data that you about to enter. After you enter the info the
form opens that record and you can only edit the date text box. What I would
like to be able to do is, after you enter the date you could then press ENTER
or TAB and be able to lookup another record. I know that I could have the
form close and then re-open but I'm trying to avoid that. Any suggestions??
