I'm using FP 2003 and when I try to use the search form I
get the following error message The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had
its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. HTTP 404 -
File not found Internet Information Services. I have
contacted my webhost (hostexcellence) and they insist the
problem is on my end and told me to recreate the page and
upload it again, which I did with no luck. I have run the
fix frontpage extensions on the site also with no luck.
Their sever runs windows 2000 nt. You can view the problem
at http://www.mowatwilson.org/mowatdiscfolder_srch.htm Is
there something I'm not doing right or something I don't
have configured correctly or does my webhost not have a
clue?

Checked your site (http://www.mowatwilson.org/mowatdiscfolder_srch.htm) and
found that it is trying to locate
http://www.mowatwilson.org/_vti_script/mowatdiscfolder_srch.htm0.idq (
check the address bar of your internet explorer after hitting submit button)

This issue can be because of the following reasons ( check with the hosting
provider)
1.The indexing service might not be started. The IDQ file can be processed
only by the indexing service and if it is not started then you might get
this error.

2.This error can also occur if there is URL scan installed and it is
disabling the .idq extensions.

3.Also check if the Application mapping exits for the .idq and .ida files
in the Application Mappings in the website Properties in IIS.

Hope this helps

My host has advised me that they have disabled the idq files on all their IIs
servers due to security reasons and suggest I use php perl or asp script to
run the search function. How would I go about that?
