My web site has numerous scientific terms, mission titles, and phrases. Often
the same terms ( "Kp-Index" ), phrase ( "meteor shower propagation" ), and
title ( "Genesis Mission" ) appear several times on numerous pages in the
Web. Special attention may be given to text by using it in a link, using it
as a bookmark to a section of an article as well as having it appear in a
meta "keyword" entry. Hyperlinks are recalculated every 24 to 48 hours. I am
using the search engine that is intergral with FrontPage 2002. The search
function has been added to and removed from the Web at various times.
Searching for the above often results in "no document found". Server logs
list unfound strings that readers have used in a search with nothing being
found. These same strings are in the text of the Web. Boolean searches seem
to provide no better results than simple text searches.
How can I improve searches?
