Search Companion

Call me nerdy, but I'm fond of the little guy. I have had
no problem getting my animated search companion to show up
and do his thing, but it's gone from "set it and forget
it" to disappearing every time I exit from the internet.
When I come back and click "Search", I have defaulted back
to the basic search window. Can someone tell me how to
choose the Search Companion animated character preference
for searching the internet, and MAKE IT STICK?! (I use
Windows XP Professional, and IE version 6.) Thanks.

When you get the 'search companion' bar showing
slide down to [x]Change preferences. Pick on
[x] Different character.

I appreciate your help, but that won't address my problem.
I can choose the search companion just fine. However, when
I exit the net, then return, the search has defaulted to
the basic search screen -- no animated character. I have
to go back to Search/Change preferences/Change internet
search behavior and click on "WITH Search Companion" ALL
OVER AGAIN, every single time. The few times in the past
when I lost my search companion, picking this option
brought it back permanently (until the next glitch,
anyway), but now it won't *stick* at all, and I need to
know what is wrong and how to fix it. Any insight? Thanks!
