search companion

when i try to use search companion, to search for files
etc. on my hard drive.
nothing happens.
the computer halts for a few minutes and no message comes
up. the machine just halts, then recovers as if no search
ever started.

Hi Steven,

Reinstall the Search Assistant. Locate the srchasst.inf file under
C:\Windows\Inf and right-click it, choose install.
